Friday, April 10th, showing in the Veterans 7-10yr class.
What the?!?! A show ring? Dad, you said I was retired except for Lake Elmo and the Natio....darn it!!! He tricked me!
This is me with Forrest Gump.
Dad "gives ears" really well.

Dad's happy because this was the moment that he realized I had just won the class.
I'm happy because it means I get to go back to the room and celebrate by eating dinner and then sleeping.
Seriously, the judge could have spun in a circle and pointed...he still would have hit any number of beautiful Veterans.

Fairly certain that after this picture was taken, Dad went out in the lobby and cried like an 8-yr old girl.
Embarassing!
Honestly, Dad...there's no crying in baseball!
Had I lost, I wouldn't have cried...I would have gone back to the room and consoled myself by eating dinner and then sleeping.

Saturday, April 11th, showing in our Best Of Breed grouping.
Wow...3 straight days of showing and Dad still wants ears.
He thinks I am doing this for him....Who's he kidding? I'm in it for the bait!

Round and round we go...this may have been "go around" number 96.
Not bad for a couch potato who hasn't run this much in years.
I was pretty impressed with my gaiting around the ring as well.
Don't tell Dad I said that, he turns 35 in June and has a complex.

Would you believe, I NEVER gets treats at home and have to work this hard to get ANY kind of attention.
Please send any spare treats you can to: CC Diva, 165 Heritage Dr, North Liberty, IA, 52317
With your support, I won't have to "give ears" all the time just to get a cookie.

Seriously...I don't know where Dad was running to...but we never made any progress.
Dad probably got lost...he needs GPS just to find his closet.

Run, stand, give ears...
Run, stand, give ears...
How about...sleep, eat, and sleep some more?

My attempts to use the "Jedi Mind Trick" to get Dad to give me the bait failed.
When he's sleeping tonight, I'll make my move, and the bait will be ALL MINE!

Dad...there's bait right over there!
I think you dropped it...I'll clean it up for ya.
Think of me like one of those "Helper Monkeys", with my specialty being bait clean-up.

After gaiting for several miles, giving ears for about 37 hours, and not getting NEARLY as much bait as I deserved...it was finaly over.
I took 2nd Award of Merit, and thank god Phoebe Booth was around to help Dad with this picture. She's my girl! Plus, she always gives me bait!
This is me with Mr. Magnus Hagstedt(Judge), my Dad, Cindy Scott(AWC Show Chair), and David Howton(National coordinator)...big shock, I'm the one "giving ears".
Dad says this is my SEVENTH Award of Merit at AWC Specialties...
and
my THIRD at National Specialties (2005, 2006, 2009). I had puppies in 2007, and in 2008 I wasn't old enough for Veterans. (The whole "no uterus" thing kept me from showing in the regular Best of Breed class in 2008.)
All I know is I finally got all the bait Dad has in his pocket when we got back to the hotel room!
After all this showing, it was time for two things...eating dinner and sleeping...I had a long week.
